This study from the University of Stockholm and food safety agency, “National Food Administration” of Sweden, has found high levels of a toxic substance called acrylamide in many starchy products: fries, cookies, chips… In their research, the Swedish scientists analyzed many popular foods and prepared meals. They found the highest levels of acrylamide in crisps (up to 1000μg / kg) and chips (up to 500μg / kg).
The toxicity of acrylamide has been widely studied in animals. The chemical is capable of damaging DNA. Prolonged exposure induces tumors in rats and mice, and high doses can lead to the occurrence of neurological effects and reduced fertility. But studies on human are still few and controversial. However, acrylamide is recognized as toxic by the World Health Organization (WHO). According to the European Union recommendation, manufactures should not exceed 0.1 mg / l… Yet, a packet of chips on the market may contain several hundred times that dose.

According to the report of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), each 50g serving of processed meat (equivalent to a slice of ham) consumed daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 18%. Red meat (beef, veal, lamb, sheep, horse, pig, and goat) is itself classified as “probably carcinogenic”. In short, processed meats are among the top foods that cause colon cancer.

Fish: Shark, Swordfish, Certain Species of Tuna

Among them, there would be addiction, headaches, nervousness and nausea. Pregnant women, nursing women and children should thus refrain from any form of energy drink. They are more prone to experience the harmful effects.
According to studies by an international team of researchers on the consumption of energy drinks among teenagers, regular intake can trigger sudden death in young individuals apparently healthy. The same scientists have found an estimated 31% the number of adolescents regularly consume energy drinks. The percentage is really high, and it is constantly increasing. Following the report of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published in November 2012, the effects of energy drinks on health are still under scrutiny by researchers; but one thing is certain, the health risks are present and they will not go away as long the same harmful ingredients are used.
