As the tumor progresses in your body, it passes through different stages. Knowing the stage of the disease is very to determine an appropriate treatment. Stages of bone cancer include:
- Stage I – at stage 1, the cancer is limited to the bone and hasn’t spread to other areas of the body.
- Stage II – a stage 2 bone cancer is still limited to the bone and hasn’t spread to other sites of the body; the tumor, however, has increased in size and tended to be aggressive.
- Stage III – At stage 3, bone cancer has become aggressive; the tumor has affected two or more areas in the same bone.
- Stage IV – at the final stage, the cancer has spread beyond the bone to other organs of the body: brain, liver or lungs.
